GOD OF REVELATION

Deut. 29:29, Hebrews 1:1-7

Nothing is hidden before the living God, both present, past and future, because He is the creator of heaven and earth. 

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”Hebrew 4:13

What is Revelation?  The act of revealing, disclosing any secret matter or things.  

Everything that is not known to man is very open to our God and before you can have access to this, you need God that knows all things. Remember that, man is limited while our God is unlimited in nature. 

His love for man has made him reveal Himself to man in many ways.  When Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, God revealed things to them in order for them to be guided right. 

“And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?”Genesis 3:11

God had already told Adam before the arrival of Satan into the garden not to eat a particular fruit. The revelations of God are in three categories. 

1       PRESENT REVELATION: - 

      The revelation of God can come in order to settle present issue. When the people of Israel needed a King and enquired from God through Prophet Samuel, God revealed the King to Prophet Samuel.  When the whole Israel gathered together, God said, He was the tallest among the people. 

“And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken. When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found. Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff. And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.”1 Samuel 10:20-23

Immediately Prophet Samuel called upon God to reveal the King to him, God did so by pointing his height. 

 2. FUTURE REVELATION: 

God knew what would happen to Adam and Eve in the Future and revealed future occurrence to Adam that, he dare not eat out of certain fruit. “And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?”Genesis 3:11

God loves man to the extent that He reveals future issues to him; either good or bad.  Before God destroyed the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, He revealed the matter to Abraham. Genesis 18:17-23.  Even our Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples what would happen to them after his departure. 

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”John 16:33

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” Revelation1:1

 PAST REVELATION: 

 Also God can reveal past issues for remembrance. 2 Samuel 21:1-4

 The government of King David, at a point in time, experienced great famine  which they could not discern the cause. David went to God to know the cause of the famine in the land and God revealed the past issue that caused it.

All these three ways by which God reveals a secret to man still happen till date. Our God has not stopped talking or revealing things to His people. 

Though there are a lot of fake prophets & prophetesses, yet God still reveals, corrects, directs, discerns and guides.  

 

MEDIUM OF GOD’S REVELATION

 There are medium that God normally use to reveal things to His people which I will mention few. 

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the world’s”Hebrew 1:1-2

1. PROPHET: - God has been revealing things to His prophets and prophetesses since the Old Testament time. Abraham was a Prophet of God and God revealed many things to him. Genesis 18:17, 2 King 3:15

Prophet Elijah and Elisha also received God’s revelation.

2. WORD OF GOD: This medium is the best and easiest way that God uses to talk and reveal things to His people. John 6:63, Hebrew 11:1-2

3. GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: -God do reveal things to His people through the gifts of the Holy Spirit like, Prophecy, tongues and discerning. 1 Corinthian 12:10

4. DREAM: Revelation normally comes through dream mostly in the Old Testament, even God revealed Himself to Jacob and other people through dreams. Genesis 20:3-6, 28:12

Brother and sister this is an opportunity for you to enjoy the revelation of God. If you are yet to give your life to Jesus, this is the time of grace to accept Jesus into your life.
